The F500/F800/‌F-1000 drilling mud pumps produced by Sino Mechanical has been successfully shipped to customers in Central Asia. 

The F500/F800/‌F-1000 drilling mud pump is a horizontal three-cylinder single-acting piston pump with compact structure, small size and good performance. It is suitable for drilling process requirements such as high pump pressure and large displacement in oil fields. drilling mud pumps are widely used in drilling and well repair operations in oil fields and other industrial and mining enterprises. This series of pumps is strictly produced in accordance with API SPEC 7K Specification  and factory tested in accordance with this standard.

The design of Sino Mechanical's drilling mud pump takes into account the harsh working environment on site. Through simulation analysis, the stress distribution of components is found and weak links are found, which provides the necessary basis for improved design to reduce the weight of the drilling mud pump, reduce costs, and balance the stress of the whole machine. This design analysis method shortens the development cycle and improves the reliability and durability of the pump.

The F series pumps produced by Sino Mechanical are fully assembled before being shipped to the oil field, and have undergone load operation tests, and the lubricating oil has been released from the power end. Before the pump is put into use, the following precautions must be taken for operation and inspection: To prevent personal accidents during maintenance or inspection, the equipment must be shut down and stopped, and all safety protection devices on the prime mover and transmission must be in a safe position.

1. Installation of Sino Mechanical drilling mud pump

The F series pumps produced by Sino Mechanical can adapt to all forms of installation. However, it should be pointed out that the box-shaped power end frame has high bending resistance, but relatively poor torsional resistance. Therefore, the support under the pump must be horizontal and have sufficient strength to support the weight of the pump and the force generated during operation.

2. Ground installation of Sino Mechanical drilling mud pump

When installing on the ground, at least 8 76x305mm pads must be used to pad the length of the pump base. The foundation under the pad must be 300mm wider than the pump base slide. In wet or swampy areas, a more stable foundation is required.

3. Permanent installation of Sino mechanical drilling mud pump

Install the drilling mud pump on the structural base or cement foundation on the drilling ship or drilling platform, and bolt the pump base. At this time, the base must be padded with gaskets to prevent possible distortion or skewness of the power end frame. The pump base must be firmly seated on all gaskets when the bolts are loosened.

When installed on board, the base of the mud pump is usually bolted to the T-beam. The gaskets are installed at each point with proper padding to prevent distortion and skewness. All gaskets must exceed the width of the base beam flange by a minimum length of 305mm.

When the power unit or motor is installed as a whole with the mud pump base, the mud pump should be assembled on the T-beam base and equipped with a stop block, and not fixed with bolts. This allows the mud pump to "float", greatly reducing the possibility of deformation of the pump frame due to deformation of the berth or platform.

4. Installation of Sino Mechanical drilling mud pump Drive

The transmission element between the mud pump and the power source, whether it is a V-belt or a multi-row chain, should be installed very accurately to ensure the longest life and the least downtime due to transmission failure.

When installing the drive pulley or sprocket, be sure to clean the rust inhibitor or grease on the matching hole and the shaft head. Remove the burrs and protrusions on the key, keyway, and shaft head, so that the key fits tightly in the keyway on the shaft and the transmission element, and then install the key into the keyway on the shaft.

Apply light lubricating oil or anti-adhesion oil to the pinion shaft head, install the pulley hub or sprocket hub, and tighten the bolts as follows:

When using a wrench or extension rod to tighten the bolts, excessive torque may be caused. Therefore, we insist on tightening the bolts according to the torque values given below. This insistence is important because the force of tightening the bolts will increase several times when installing the hub due to the effect of squeezing into the tapered surface. This force uses a sliding fit to force the hub to be installed on the shaft. When the force of tightening the bolts is large, a large expansion force is generated, causing the hub and pulley to break. Therefore, the hub bolts should be tightened alternately and gradually.

5. Requirements for the suction system of Sino mechanical drilling mud pumps

The design of the pump suction system should be able to be installed separately as needed. The F series pump must have a positive pressure head (positive pressure) to obtain satisfactory suction performance. The optimal pressure of the suction manifold is 0.14~0.21Mpa (20~30PSI), so that the pump can have the maximum volumetric efficiency and the longest life of wearing parts. This pressure head can be obtained with a 5x6 centrifugal pump (with a 40 horsepower, 1150 rpm motor). This type of transmission requires a device to automatically start or stop the centrifugal pump and the three-cylinder mud pump synchronously. On a DC motor-driven drilling rig, a signal is usually obtained from the DC control panel to excite the electromagnetic starter. At this time, the mud pump clutch air pipeline can provide a set of contacts when the clutch is engaged to power the electromagnetic starter.

The priming pump can also be belt driven, with the driving power coming from the pinion shaft of the three-cylinder pump, but this transmission is ineffective when the mud is very viscous and the speed is very slow. In some cases, the F series pump can work without the priming pump. If the mud pump liquid level in the mud pool exceeds the top of the cylinder sleeve, the pumped liquid has low viscosity, the pipeline is short and straight, and the suction pipe diameter should be at least the same as the suction manifold inlet diameter.

The suction pipeline should be connected with valves to bypass the priming pump so that the mud pump can continue to work when the priming pump fails or is under maintenance. When the mud pump is running without the priming pump, it can also be improved by replacing a softer suction valve spring.

The suction air bag is a very effective auxiliary device to completely inject the liquid flow into the cylinder sleeve and eliminate the liquid flow pulsation of the suction pipeline, so that the discharge liquid flow is relatively smooth.

Note: Do not connect the return line of the shear pin safety valve to the suction line, because the shear pin safety valve will cause the pressure in the system to rise suddenly when it is working. When it is higher than the rated pressure of the system, it will damage the manifold, suction air bag, and centrifugal pump.
