Sino Mechanical non-magnetic drill collars are made of a low-carbon high-chromium-manganese alloy steel. It is refined after strict chemical composition ratio and forged to achieve its mechanical properties. It has good low magnetic permeability, high-strength mechanical properties, excellent intergranular corrosion cracking resistance and excellent wear resistance. The magnetic induction gradient of the non-magnetic drill collar along the inner hole at any distance of 100mm is ≤0.05UT.

Since all magnetic measuring instruments sense the geomagnetic field of the wellbore when measuring the direction of the wellbore, the measuring instrument must be in a non-magnetic environment. However, during the drilling process, the drill tool is often magnetic and has a magnetic field, which affects the magnetic measuring instrument and cannot obtain the correct borehole trajectory measurement information data. The non-magnetic drill chain can implement a non-magnetic environment and has the characteristics of the drill collar in drilling.

The interfering magnetic field lines above and below the non-magnetic drill collar have no effect on the measuring instrument. Therefore, the non-magnetic drill collar creates a non-magnetic environment for the magnetic measuring instrument, ensuring that the data measured by the magnetic measuring instrument is the real earth magnetic field information. 

Sino Mechanical Non-magnetic Drill Collar Structure

1. The integral drill collar is a smooth thick-walled round tube with connecting threads processed at both ends.

2. The spiral drill collar has three right-handed spiral grooves processed on the outer cylindrical surface of the round drill collar to reduce the contact area with the well wall, which can effectively prevent the pressure difference from sticking the drill.

3. The non-magnetic drill collar is mainly used for monitoring during oil drilling, and its structure is the same as that of the integral drill collar. The non-magnetic drill chain is made of N1310 low-carbon alloy steel, which is forged after strict chemical composition analysis. The material has been tested for mechanical properties to ensure that the hardness, toughness, impact value and corrosion resistance meet the standards, and has good low magnetic permeability and good machining performance.

Precautions for the use of Sino Mechanical non-magnetic drill collars

1. After use, the mud should be removed, the safety of each part should be checked, and then anti-rust oil should be applied, and it should be stored in a dry and ventilated place.

2. On-site inspection, if one of the conditions for repair or scrap is found, it should be recycled for repair or scrapped.

3. In order to ensure the accuracy of the measurement results of magnetic instruments, the length of the non-magnetic drill collar must be reasonably selected.

4. In order to ensure the accuracy of the measurement results of magnetic measuring instruments such as non-magnetic drill collars, the length of the non-magnetic drill collar must be reasonably selected. The length of the non-magnetic drill collar should be selected according to the size of the parallel inclination angle and the well inclination azimuth of the measured well section. When the parallel inclination angle is large, the length of the non-magnetic drill collar should be lengthened.
