Overview of Sino Mechanical IBOP
In oil and gas drilling operations, blowouts are accidents that people do not want to see on any drilling rig. Because it directly endangers the personal and property safety of the drilling team and brings environmental pollution. Usually, during a blowout, high-pressure fluid (liquid or gas), especially gas accompanied by mud, sand and gravel, will be ejected from the wellhead at an extremely high flow rate, forming a terrifying scene of fireworks and roaring. The root cause of the accident comes from the fluid between underground rock formations, which has an abnormally high pressure. When drilling to this section of the well, pressure fluctuations will occur, and in extreme cases, the above-mentioned blowout will occur. With the promotion of underbalanced drilling technology, the probability of well kicks and blowouts is much greater than that of conventional balanced drilling.
In order to prevent the occurrence of blowouts, blowout preventer tools came into being. It is combined with other equipment and technologies to achieve the closure of the wellbore when the signs of well kicks and blowouts just appear, so that the staff can control the well kicks and blowouts before the blowout occurs. The blowout preventer tools on the drilling rig are divided into types such asdrill string internal blowout preventer, wellhead annular blowout preventer and ram blowout preventer according to the position of the blowout prevention channel. Internal blowout preventer (IBOP) is also called Kelly valve or plug valve.

Brief description of structure and working principle of Sino Mechanical IBOP
The internal blowout preventer (IBOP) is an internal blowout prevention tool connected to the upper end of the drill string. When the pressure in the well is higher than the pressure in the drill string, the internal channel of the drill string can be cut off by closing the internal blowout preventer, thereby preventing the occurrence of well gushing or blowout. Its structure consists of a valve body, an upper valve seat, a wave spring, a valve core, an operating handle, a cross slide, a handle sleeve, a lower split retaining ring, a lower valve seat, an upper split retaining ring, a support ring, a hole retaining ring, an O-shaped sealing ring, etc.
The internal blowout preventer is a ball valve with metal seal, with wave spring compensation and pressure-assisted sealing mechanism, which has reliable sealing performance under both high and low pressure.
It retains the design and structural advantages of conventional ball valves. In order to achieve high-pressure sealing, a pressure-assisted sealing mechanism is designed, so that the pressure of the sealed fluid generates a sealing force between the valve core and the upper and lower valve seats, and this sealing force plays a role in pressure-assisted sealing. In order to achieve low-pressure sealing, a wave spring preload mechanism is designed. The wave spring provides the force required to press the lower valve seat against the ball, and when the valve core is sealed from below, the wave spring can provide a sealing force that is not affected by the valve core pressure difference.
Under low pressure, the spring with a certain preload force pushes the upper valve seat toward the valve core, so that they keep in contact and have a certain contact force. At this time, if a low-pressure fluid passes through the internal blowout preventer, the fluid will not leak because the valve core is in close contact with the upper valve seat and has a certain preload force. As the fluid pressure gradually increases, the preload may not be enough to seal the fluid. In order to prevent the fluid from leaking, the axial force generated by the fluid pressure on the area difference at both ends of the sealing ring will increase with the increase of pressure. This axial force makes the upper and lower valve seats and the valve core more tightly combined, thereby ensuring the sealing of the fluid under high pressure.
For high flow, high pressure sealing and high stress loads applied to the square kelly, the remote control internal blowout preventer is a good switch device. The remote control internal blowout preventer has 6S/8REG threaded connections at both ends, which has a good match with the top drive main shaft and the connection of the internal blowout preventer.
For the Sino Mechanical top drive internal blowout preventer, it not only has high pressure and low pressure sealing, but also has high tensile strength, high torsion strength and reliable operation. The internal blowout preventer and the lower end conversion joint and the drilling tool joint are matched in structure. The internal blowout preventer is set on the conversion joint to close the drill string hole and withstand the reverse impact. When the internal blowout preventer is in the open position, the drill string can also be used as a mud saver when drilling.
