When the heat pump air conditioner is running under heating conditions, the four-way valve rotates on the dotted line in the figure. At this time, the indoor heat exchanger becomes a condenser and the outdoor heat exchanger becomes an evaporator. The low-temperature, low-pressure superheated gas of the outdoor heat exchanger enters the gas-liquid separator through the four-way valve and the muffler. After the liquid is separated, the dry superheated gas is sucked into the compressor and compressed into the high-temperature, high-pressure gas, and the gas enters the indoor heat exchanger through the four-way valve to release heat and condense (the indoor air is heated at this time). After the capillary resistance is reduced, the supercooled liquid becomes a low-temperature, low-pressure two-phase fluid.

Enter the outdoor heat exchanger to evaporate and absorb heat, and then the superheated gas enters the next cycle through the four-way valve and the gas-liquid separator. In order to prevent the indoor comfort from decreasing due to thawing during heating, the hot gas bypass uninterrupted heat defrosting method is adopted. During defrosting, the working principle is basically the same as heating, but the defrost solenoid valve is opened. The high-temperature and high-pressure superheated gas of the compressor part is distributed to the inlet of the outdoor heat exchanger, and the temperature of the outdoor heat exchanger rises rapidly to above 0℃, and the frost layer of the outdoor heat exchanger melts, so that the heat exchanger maintains good heat transfer efficiency.
