Overview of Truck Mounted Workover Rig

Workover Rigs are very similar to drilling rigs in that they are truck-mounted mobile rigs that travel between job sites on public roads.
A workover rig is a specially designed rig that makes it easier to take out or insert tubing into a well. A workover is any operation done on, within, or through the wellbore after the initial completion. Although proper drilling, cementing, and completion practices minimize the need, virtually every well will need several workovers during its lifetime to satisfactorily fulfill its purpose. A workover rig is a mobile self-propelled rig used to perform one or more remedial operations, such as deepening, plugging back, pulling and resetting liners, on a producing oil or gas well to try to restore or increase the well's production.
Features of Truck Mounted Workover Rig

1. The technical parameters and overall design conform to GB/T 23505 Petroleum Drilling and Workover Rigs, suitable for middle & shallow well drilling and workover operations.
2. Dynamical system adopts hydraulic and mechanical transmission type, with high combined efficiency.
3. Chassis is available in professional second chassis or self-propelled to meet customer’s need.
4. Adopt mechanical transmission to enable simple operation and easy maintenance.
5. Derrick uses open front single or double section with hydraulic raise, hydraulic or mechanical scale.
6. Workover rig features reasonable structure and high containerization, covering small area.
7. Modular design achieves fast move and transportation.
8. The main brake of drawworks can adopt band brake or hydraulic disc-brake, and the auxiliary brake can use pneumatic water-cooled disc brake or hydromatic brake.
9. Special off-road chassis extends service life.
10. Drill floor is or rhomboid structure, which is convenient for lifting. The flat size and height can be designed according to customer’s requirement.
11. Many humanization design is applied, like new type cab, driller operation room, auxiliary brake AL-H, brake system expire protection, which improve workover unit’s comfort, safety and reliability.
Applications of Truck Mounted Workover Rig
Workover rigs are an important link in various constructions of oil and gas exploration and development. A Truck Mounted workover rig is needed when wells are no longer suitable for the drilling job it was originally built for.
A Truck Mounted workover rig is a mobile self-propelled rig used to perform one or more remedial operations. Workover rig means a mobile self-propelled rig used to perform one or more remedial operations.
Oil, gas, and water wells may fail at any time during the process of self-spraying, oil pumping, water injection, and gas injection. This can result in reduced or even shut down production of the well. After a problem occurs, it can only be solved through downhole operations. It is also possible to replace the equipment and adjust the parameters of the oil well to restore the normal production of the oil well.
1. Lifting, repair and replacement of damaged tubing, sucker rod, sucker rod pump and other downhole oil production equipment and tools, and then lowered into the well. As well as suction, sand removal, mechanical wax removal, etc.
2. Rotate operation. Such as drilling sand plugs, drilling cement plugs, reaming, grinding, sidetracking and repairing casings, etc.
3. Circulation operation in the well. Such as sand washing, hot washing cycle mud, etc. Downhole operation is an important measure to stabilize oil production, and workover rig is the key equipment for workover.
Workover Rig Components:
The basic structure of a general workover rig mainly includes power part, transmission part, drawworks part (including derrick, swimming system), hydraulic, gas, electric system, self-propelled chassis, auxiliary parts, such as water brake (disc brake), hydraulic small drawworks, buckle hydraulic cylinder (hydraulic anchor head), drill floor (including turntable, faucet), etc.
The main Truck Mounted Workover Rig components are Crown block, Mast and Travelling system. Other Truck Mounted Workover Rig components such as Swivel, Rotary Hose, Links, Hydraulic tongs, Pneumatic slips, Square bushing, Rotary table and Substructure (including Slide and Ladder etc.) are optional. The power system, drawworks, mast, travelling system and transmission mechanism of the truck mounted workover rig are mounted on the self-propelled chassis.
